Reading Royals

Reading Royals Synchronised Swimming Club is one of the most successful sports clubs in Reading.  Established in 1969 and re-named to incorporate "Royals" in the title before the football team adopted it, the Club has has great success both nationally and Internationally.





                        


             

               

  
                                          
  

                


                                                                          




We are proud to be able to say that two of our swimmers were part of the 9 strong team who competed at the London 2012 Olympics. Katie Skelton retired from competing after the Olympics whilst Katie Clark continues to train full time and is now part of the up and coming duet pairing with Asha Randall of Rushmoor Synchro. She is also an Ambassador for the GLL Sports Foundation.

Lily Ryan trains part time as a Junior swimmer  and trains regularly at the High Performance Centre in Aldershot where the full-time
athletes are based.

2013 ASA National Squads comprises of three levels.  The level 3 athletes will compete at an international representing England and are age 13-15, level 2 and 1 athletes train alongside the level 3 to help prepare them for future national squads and are aged 10 - 15.  All athletes are selected from results at the National Age Groups. Royals level 3 athletes for 2013 and setting off in June for their first international event is Hannah Mulshaw and Emma Critchley.  Torrie Usher is part of the Level 2 squad and Mimi Gray and Abi Taylor are part of the level 1 squad.

2013 British Championship were held in April and Royals A-Team had a very successful meet having competed in three out of the four events again winning medals in all events events - Duet Silver, Combo Bronze, Team Silver.
